Our bakery customers may have noticed that prices for flour and other food products have been increasing substantially.
We recently decided that we needed to inform our customers about the state of the commodities market. The commodities markets are not direct indicators of the prices you pay for your ingredients. Commodities are the raw ingredients purchased by our suppliers, and must be processed into the ingredients that you eventually purchase from us. Production, packaging, transportation, marketing, distribution, and other expenses ultimately become part of your ingredient costs.
Valley Bakers Cooperative Association works hard to reduce your costs. We can help significantly to lower your distribution costs. And the cooperative provides additional services to your business. We believe it is our responsibility to help you understand what is happening to your ingedient costs.
