What is Valley Bakers Cooperative Association?
Simply stated, VBCA is a bakery ingredient cooperative owned by its members. Our annual operating profits are distributed to our members/stockholders.
Why was it formed?
We were formed in 1949 by a group of retail bakers who wanted a more efficient way to purchase ingredients and supplies during difficult economic times.
Who are the current members?
They come from various businesses in the baking and foodservice industry including retail bakeries, supermarkets, wholesalers and institutional operations. Our members/stockholders are also the owners and customers of our association.
Who can become a member?
Membership and stock ownership is restricted to active customers of the association who can benefit from the services and profits it returns.
Do I have to join to do business with VBCA?
No. Anyone who can use our services or products is welcome to be a customer.
What does it cost to join?
There is a one-time common stock purchase of $500 (five $100 shares) to become an active member/stockholder.
